    Hi there,

don’t know why but the Plugin is showing always 1.000 Images for compression if i go to WP Optimize -> Images. If have activeted the auto compression and sometimes i just go there to check which images maybe can be compressed, in the past it was just showing the new ones i.E. for posting i have upladed 4 images, then just this 4 images were shown and i can compress them. But now with this “error” i don’t like to wait for 2 hours to just compress some images, any suggestins or is this error already known?

  • Hi,

Have you recently added 1000+ images, or where they already compressed, and now show as uncompressed?
Would it be possible to share the image compression log?

    Thanks
    Marc.

I ttry but this log is extremly long…. I have added just round about 50-60 pictures and the other are already compressed by the plugin itself.

    Here is the log:

Hi thanks to the Moderator for not informing me! That will not help…

Anyway, even for Pastbin the Logfile is to big, so i have just used the last couple of entrys and here is the Link to the PastBin (Will work for 2 Weeks):

Thanks for that. Everything looks fine in the logs.

In the uncompressed images list, when you hover the “View image” button on an image that was already compressed, what does the link point to?

YOu mean the Button which shows up under the Image when you hover it? If yes this is the direcction of the link: …/wp-admin/post.php?post=11563&action=edit

    Yes that’s the one.
hmm that’s odd. The only way this should happen is if something changed in the database, and it doesn’t find the post_meta that stores the compression information.

When you follow that link, does it show the options to compress the image? (The setting “Show compression meta-box on an image’s dashboard media page.” must be turned on for that)

Yes on the right side it shows that: “Die Datei wurde durch WP-Optimize von 21.61 KB zu 15.72 KB komprimiert, was einer Ersparnis von 27.25 Prozent entspricht” SOrry it is german^^But i guess you know what that means. And there is a button to restore the image.

Okay. Does it change anything when you press “Refresh image list” at the top – right of the uncompressed image list?

unfortunealty not, have tried it already a couple of times, even it i upload just 1 new pic and compress it via the list (only this one) it is there then as well after compressing it.

@marcusig any ideas left? What will happen if i deinstall the plugin and install it new? Will it recognize the commressed images? Or is it necessery to compress then all images again?

    Hi @leogc

I can’t tell if deinstalling / reinstalling will change anything, but I doubt it will.

If “Die Datei wurde durch WP-Optimize von 21.61 KB zu 15.72 KB komprimiert, was einer Ersparnis von 27.25 Prozent entspricht” + restore are written on the image screen, then the image is already compressed.

I’ve asked my colleague who worked on the feature to look into what could make the images appear as not compressed while they are, and I’ll post back here when we find something.

Ok, just a question befor i try, would it have a negative effect if i deinstall and reinstall the plugin? Or can a try it?

If you have page cache enabled, it will purge the cache, which will have to be regenerated when re-installing. It’s not really a problem, more an inconvenience if you have many pages.
