First I do not understand exactly what you mean,the gallery display everywhere you put the short code.
if you put it after the content it will be after the content.
i would love to check your site if you send to me a link or screenshots.
Secondly about the thumbs above the large image i will add this option in the next plugin version that i hope to release soon.
meanwhile you can display the thumbs above the large image with CSS tricks if you want(and if you know how).

sorry for my english, I’m from Germany ?? But you’ve understood my question right – I put the shortcode for the gallery after the content, but it appears always on top of the post before the content.

And here is a screenshot from the backend (I’m normally working with the HTML editor, but for the screenshot I switched to visual to make it clearer.

I’m scared that you mention to replace the panel with css – surely I’m a noob with this -.-* I’ll try, but it would be very helpful if you could tell me which css-classes I have to edit.

at the moment, the shortcode function uses ‘echo‘ instead of ‘return‘ therefore the output is always shown at the top of the content.
