• Hi,

I’ve used WP for many years now, only recently started to sell software using it, and started using wp-ecommerce as a result. Had a problem with it, can’t get help, no-one says anything about it on here or on their own forums – so I’m asking if there are alternatives – what’s a good one to use to sell software packages?

    Richard

  • I havent found anything really efficient to integrate into WordPress. If you’re considering a stand-alone script however, Zen-Cart is very easy to set up (although needs a bit of work on the aesthetic front)

Is it considered bad form to plug your own project? ??

I don’t know about being efficient to integrate into WP, but my own plugin (YAK) supports downloadable products so might be suitable for selling software packages.

If it works I don’t consider it bad form. I’ll take a look at your plugin and see if it fits the bill.

On the subject of Zen-Cart, I found this:

In fact, I’m considering using it myself….

I can’t get wp ecommerce to work either. i bought the upgrade and the seller won’t answer emails, respond to paypal complaints— nothing!

If you are still looking, E-junkie could be a nice alternative. E-junkie is a shopping cart and digital delivery service. You can sign-up for 7 day fully functional trial absolutely free.
Let me know if you have specific requirements for your software.
