Alternative to Symbolic Link Needed

I host my site on a system which does not allow for following symbolic links. Since it is quite simple to write a rewrite rule, could you make it easy to disable to symbolic link creation and checking?
The rewrite rule which should work (IIRC) is as follows:
RewriteRule ^wp-content/uploads/uam-pipe/(.*)$ wp-content/plugins/ultimate-ads-manager/$1 [NC,L]
