Alternative to Customizable Post Listings

I wish at least, there’s someone with some fix idea.

Please, if someone could update this plugin it would be really great.
I want to add a recently commented on post list in my sidebar, and I don’t know how without this tool. ??

Recent Posts plugin works well, it does what customizable post listings plugin does.

the other alternative is to make your own custom ‘loop’ (as in the loop), to display what you want, where you want, and how you want.

This is essentially what the plugin does anyway, only it makes it a little cleaner/easier to call.
