• I’m adding another header to some of my templates. I am using the one I designed and now trying to disconnect Header 2 from Header 1… When saving Header 2, Header 1 keeps appearing as default checked for saving. Unchecking heading 1 and saving Header 2 only, then saves and overwrites Header 1 anyways. The mess get’s even worse when designing Header 3 and 4.

    How do I:

Create Header 1 (This I know)

Then copy this in another template part renamed. Not building a new from scratch but copy

Disconnect the relation to Header 1

Save and STOP being asked if I want to save Header 1 that’s not even in the template anymore…

  • This is how I would do this:

    1. create header 1 or edit default header
    2. select all blocks in header 1 (or just the outer Group block if all grouped together), and from the block toolbar options select copy block/blocks.
    3. go back to Template Parts, click Add New, give it a name (Header 2 or whatever), select Header area and hit Create button.
    4. now in the new Header 2 template part, paste the block/blocks from step 2.
    5. now have a new header that is identical to the original and you can edit this new header to make changes that only apply to this new header.
