• Hi everyone.

I need to insert some tables into posts, and want to use very specific formatting and coloring for the tables.

I figured I’d just knock up some quick internal CSS at the head of the post, and that should do the trick… well, it is… about 50%.

The width of the table and columns, the centering of the headings and most of the borders have come up right.

However, there is extra padding above and below each row, some “invisible” and some cells where I have marked the borders “none” are still showing a bit of color.

I know my syntax is in correct working order, because if I save the html externally and open it in a browser window, it looks perfect, and exactly formatted as I want. This holds true for both IE and Chrome.

However, publishing the same html as a post produces a slightly different result with the formatting differences/problems noted above.

I have also tried moving the CSS classes I am using to my child style.css file, as I understand if they appear last in the hierarchy they will be the applied changes. This produces exactly the same result.

Perhaps it’s possible that there are a couple settings that are not overriden by my classes… I will have another look at that, but if anyone knows of any specific WordPress quirks in this regard, I’d love to hear them!
