Alternative Anti-Spam

    We have a WordPress site built which uses Contact Form 7 on a Contact Us page. The client is noticing that they’re receiving too much spam, but is against having any CAPTCHA added to the site. They claim that it will drive people away from submitting a form.

    We’ve tried to reason with them, but they won’t budge. So I’m looking into an alternative method to stop spam. I tried a plugin (Contact Form 7 Honeypot) to add a hidden field. If the hidden field is filled out, then the form will not submit. But this doesn’t seem to work.

    The only other option I can see is to have a timer so that if the form is submitted within X seconds of hitting the page, then the form will not send. Is this an option that Contact Form 7 could implement? Or something someone has added to this plugin already?

    I’m kind of in a corner here, so any help would be appreciated.
