• How would I be able to have an A and B version of my site so that I can make changes in Version B without changing the public face of Version A until B is done. Alternating between sites without having the published version reflecting the changes as I make them. I might switch once a month. Is that two installs/two databases or two installs/one database? Is it even possible?

    Thanks, Dan

  • Are you thinking on content? On code? Or on both?

For content, you might use WordPress workflow, marking something as draft until it is getting done for being puslished.

On code, you might use your local installation (with production database, for instance) for developing and deploy when code is ready for production.

If you are thinking on having 2 sites on production, with different domains, you should have an installation with one database but different tables for each version (standard feature on WordPress network).

Thanks for the help. I don’t think what I what is technically possible without manually updating the A and B sites. I was hoping to have two sites (one domain) and only one was live while the other would allow edits . Then I could switch the domain assignment to the working site so the the previous live would now be the working. I wanted to avoid my edits showing up on a live site as I entered them.

    Thanks again.
