    Hi,

The following post relates to this page (as an example of future intentions) https://27.131.66.24/~zahalkaw/?page_id=221

Currently there are two tables. The first is HTML made in the text editor of WP, and the second is TablePress. I am wanting to have alternating colours of grey, so that each year is an alternate colour. When I try this on the TablePress table at the bottom of the page, I can’t get the same effect. Have a look right at the bottom of the page for my attempt. Basically I want to replicate the top table with TablePress. Can some one please assist?

    Thanks in advance
    Jasha

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

The easiest way here would be to not use separate cells for each book, but to put all books of the same year into a single cell (separated by line breaks). You also won’t need the rowspan then, and the alternating row colors will just work fine.
If you want to keep using the merged cells (and individual cells for each book), you won’t really be able to use the alternating row colors feature, but you’ll have to manually set the row colors with https://tablepress.org/faq/change-background-color-of-a-row/

    Regards,
    Tobias
