• I would like to change around the right menu , adding an “about” heading, and other top-level categories above the “exit at any time” heading. What files do I need to edit? Is it the index.php file? Feel free to point me to a good tutorial about editing the menu. I appreciate your help.

  • You can do it two ways:
    1. Create more link categories and then change their order of appearance to your choice.
    2. Directly insert what you want into index.php inside the <div id=”menu>
You will more than likely end up using both methods depending on what it is to be inserted.
If you do the second method, and you like to keep validation, then be sure to use the correct markup and use list (

    • ) tags. If you do run into trouble on that – your stying may appear wierd – just post back and we can help you sort it all out.

Many thanks. Off to work I go!

Can someone explain how in the world i can switch the menu from the right to the left?
I’m hosting the blog on a home test server right now, so cant give you a link.. but just a vanilla wordpress install.
I want to move the menu and the whole navigational bar from the right to the left..
If you could provide an example of a blog that does this, that would be excellent as well, so i can dig through the code.
    thanks,

Can’t edit my post, but i’ve found the answer in one of the links provided above.
    Sorry guys.
I have another question though.. Now that i have the menu displayed to the left, how can i have another bar to the right where i can display other content (like weather, newsfeeds, etc..)
basically, i want the content to be sandwiched between 2 columns (menus)..
Again, if you can show me how to do it, that’s great, or a simple link will do as well ??

    Thanks podz.
