    Hello,
I have installed the plugin. It is working. But there are two points according alt-text of an image, which I do not understand:
1.) alt-text entered in the wp media collection is not taken into the envira image list
2.) alt-text entered to the image in envira list is not displayed on the web page gallery when mouse over, nor is it display anyhow.
Any idea why this is happening? Thanks a lot for your help!
    regards,
    Suitbert

    Hi @uitbert12

Could you possibly pass a link? Also, can you let me know if you’ve tried on other browsers and the browser versions that you’ve tried on please? 1 more question (sorry), can you tell me what version of the plugin you are running?

    Hi,
thanks for answering. Please have a look at https://monz.photos/portfolio/nordlicht/
I have just downloaded the plugin yesterday, so it should be the newest version (1.5.4)
There is no difference with Firefox (49.0.2) or Chrome (54.0.2840.99 m (64-bit)). I have even tested it with two different PCs.

    Hi Suitbert ??

Ok, I see now – the ‘Title’ attribute is what is shown on hover, that comes from the title of the image.

You would need to copy / paste your alt text to your title area.

May I assist with anything else?

ok, that might be a work around. But why does the envira image list not grab the alt-text-field which I do allready have filled in the original WordPress media listing (my 1.)? I had to reenter it to the envira list.

    Hi ??

I believe (since the hover is controlled by the browser) the title is the only thing that shows on hover as the alt text is what is used for screenreaders and SEO bots.

ok, fine! But still my problem nr. 1.) is open:
if I do alter data (like title or alt) in the media library of wordpress those data
will not be refreshed in the envira images. There the former field content will remain.
Any idea to this? Thanks alot!

    Hi ??

If you edit the gallery, then click the blue pencil icon to edit the image – this opens up a pop up called Edit Metadata, you can copy/paste the alt text to the Title section, then scroll down until you see ‘Save Metadata’.

Using the right/left arrows at the top of the pop up, you can navigate through the rest of the images in the gallery repeating the same steps.

You don’t need to edit from within the Media Library – you can actually edit from the gallery itself.
