Alt text keeps disappearing

Are you you using version 4.08. The text gets saved in both version 4.07 and 4.08. Or does it disappear after some other condition?

Hi Alan,

I’m using 4.08. Here’s what I see. If I edit the info into a blank record, it will save and keep it fine. However, if I then reopen them to make a change it will truncate both the alt and the caption to 25 characters and make me enter them all again.

Also a question. Would it be possible to include the desc field in this bulk edit screen?

Oh also, the caption will not recognize html from this entry screen either.

I’m not seeing the text cut off at 25 characters. Some other plugin could be causing that. As for removing HTML in the caption, that is done to keep malicious code from being included in the gallery. HTML is allowed in the description. And since there is only one description per gallery there is no need to include in the bulk edit.

Your list of upgrade features includes “HTML in thumbnail captions” which was one of the several reasons I upgraded. Check your feature list.

And it works, but only if I input it from the media library (native Wp or + either one.) It just won’t work from the bulk edit input screen. I have long captions, giving several bits of credit under my images, and without the html they look really crappy and bulky. I like to make the font smaller and use line breaks. Also centered. They look good ??

I guess I’ll have to forget about the bulk editing functionality (sigh).
