Hey @astreck2,
Thank you for your feedback! We are currently in the process of analyzing and implementing accessibility-related changes for all of our plugins. When it comes to the Alt text, we face the challenge of the Graph (Instagram) API not providing the alt text that users can enter when posting their content. This is only used by Instagram, and for Instagram — it is not accessible for third-party use.
What we do is we use the caption of the post as the alt text, and we will shorten/truncate this going forward to avoid conflict with accessibility tools in cases where the caption is very long. If you want to have a higher level of control over the alt text, you can use the custom template feature to structure the feed according to your own wishes with some additional programming. We are also exploring other options for our users here.
What we will focus on in the update is to cover general accessibility standards and make it as simple as possible for our users to set up, install, and have confidence in meeting these standards.
If you have any other questions or feedback, please let me know!
Best regards,
