    Hello,

Why does yoast not see that i have my keywords in alt tags? they are definitely there.

Also, what counts as a first paragraph? I would say its the first piece of text thats written in paragraph font, right? Again, the keyword is there, why doesn’t yoast see it?

    Thank you,
    Olga

    Focus Keyword in Alt Tags
In order to better assist you, we’ll need more information.

    • Are you using any page builder plugin to add the content and the image?
    • Can you please show us a screenshot in which you highlight the image you have added and the alt tag so that we can take a look?

Focus Keyword Not in the First Paragraph
There are some special cases where our plugin isn’t able to detect the focus keyword in the first paragraph. Usually, when the first paragraph is not the first element in your article (i.e. there is an image before the first paragraph). Please, refer to this KB article for more information: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/warning-focus-keyword-not-in-first-paragraph/.

However, this doesn’t mean that Google and other search engines won’t be able to see it, so if your first paragraph does contain your focus keyword, you can safely ignore this warning.

    Hello!

    The website is cobbletales.com
Yes, I am using elementor. Having checked through developer tools, it seems just the background images are not showing up in the code, whereas the image galleries and image boxes show the alt tag.
For example, on home page, there is only background images, none of them show up in the code at all – no file name, nothing. While on cobbletales.com/tours – the image box images do show up.

Is it the case that background images done in page builder won’t be registered by google?

I am not sure how to attach an image to here!

    Paragraph:

Yes, there is always a background image to above the first paragraph.I will just ignore the warning then.

    Best,
    O

    Hi,

We are not familiar with your background images or how the are being added. If they are not appearing in the code of the site, we suggest reaching out to the plugin/theme authors that are adding the background images. We do know that if they are appearing in the source code of the page Google is expected to index the image.

As far as images are concerned you may be able to use an image linking tool like https://pasteboard.co/.
