You can add Alt tags to all images uploaded via WordPress, no matter if they are used or not.

If your images were uploaded while you were editing a Page or Post, these images will show up along with the post information in the Pages, Posts or Custom Posts menus under Little Hippo.

You can also see all images that have Alt or Title tag issues by going to the Issues area under Little Hippo.

Thanks for using the plug-in. Let us know if there are any features you would like to see in the plug-in.

    Cheers.

Ok, i tried it on one for one of my products, then using google chrome i went to the page and check the hmtl code by hitting F12 and when i look at the code of the image it didn’t add the alt tag to it.

    Does that make sense?

Yes, I understand. Can you send me the link to the page so I can have a look?

Are you using any other plug-ins for SEO like All in One SEO or WordPress SEO by Yoast?

Is it the picture at the top of the page?

If you go into the Media library, and click on the picture, is there a value in the Alt tag field?

If it is the image at the top, it looks as though that image is being displayed using the Owl Carousel plug-in. That plug-in is NOT pulling in the Alt tag for the image properly, therefore it is not displaying the alt tag.

You may want to consider using a Featured image there instead. This would trim down the amount of HTML being generated and will pull in the Alt Tag properly.

Yeah, it’s the image at the top and on the link i just posted. I just did it on the main image on this page

    https://www.nitrodisplays.com/product/10-nitro-twistlock-modular-display/

The big one with the Verizon Wireless Display and still didn’t work.

Is that because of the Owl Carousel plug in also? Any way of optimazin your plug in to make it work or is that something that they would have to do?

Ok, on that last link I can see the Alt tag on that image:

alt="10 ft tahoe twistlock display verizon wireless"

One of the issues we have had in developing this plug-in is the lack of a filter/action in WordPress that let’s us add the Alt and Title tags as the HTML is rendered for ANY and ALL images.

I have found a hack to allow this for images with the content, but it is not ideal and does not work 100% of the time.

I will log this as an issue into our Development portal and push this feature up as a priority.

For now, if you are not using more than 1 image, there is probably not a need for the Carousel. You might try a lightbox plugin that would allow for the same effect of opening the Image over top of the post when clicked.

But we will look at this as an improvement and let you know the status as we progress.

    Thanks for your input.

I am using more than one image on other products so i have to keep it the way it is.

So, i guess i will just rename all the images and once you guys keep working on it, at one point hopefully it will work? Or should i just wait, until i see an update from you guys?

We are working on it today.

I cannot say yet when the next release will be available with this feature. I will know more early next week.

I would go ahead and rename images if you need, and then our update will hopefully address the missing alt issue automatically without the need for any interaction on your part.

    Cheers.
