• Hi,

I have put Alt tags to all of my images uploaded to the Media Library.
Then, I have run compressed all the images with WP Smush.
Now, the results of SEO analysis include a remark that the images don’t have Alt tags.
So, does WP Smush removes the Atl tags during compressing?

    Hey @szczepanski,

    Hope you’re well.

Smush is not editing information like that for media files. But just to be sure I checked that with a fresh install of WordPress. I created new site uploaded some media files and added alt texts. Then I installed Smush and made bulk smushing. After that, I recheck media files and alt texts stay there.

So when you check your media files from wp-admin side, is there no alt texts? Maybe this is not a related Smush and other plugins or theme cause this.

Or if replication steps different can you explain that?

    Cheers,
    Oguz

    Hi,

    Thanks for verification.
I found out that in the Divi Theme, which I’m using, one has to add the alt texts in the tab Advanced, section Attribute. There are 2 fields, alt text and image title.
In other words, in this theme alt texts are not uploaded from the Media Library.
