    Hi,

I am new to NextGen Gallery and have downloaded the Basic version. (2.1.45)
I’ve played around with different gallery settings – Gallery settings > Template > Nextgen Legacy: gallery.php

I want to build a gallery with Highslide JS lightbox. To bring Highslide JS to work I
chose – other options > lightbox effect: none – and filled in some Javascript for Highslide JS to the theme header and footer scripts.

So far I have a question – Is it possible to catch 2 different attributes ( image title and
    alternative text )

    here is a link: https://wordpress65xxx.galaxyphoto.de/clusters-2/

My attempt only shows the image title – M45 (Plejades). In the alternative text should appear a descripton of the image (overlay)

    Thank you in advance
    Michael

@michaeldeger – The current release of NextGEN Gallery is 2.1.50 I would (as always) strongly recommend keeping NextGEN Gallery, all other active plugins, your current theme, and WordPress itself up-to-date at all times.

As to the issues with the Highslide JS Lightbox, it would be best to work with its author as we no longer specific support that library as it is not compatible with the current WordPress/GPLv2 guidelines we follow.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

thanks a lot for your answer.

The trouble is – there is no support for Highslide JS any longer.
Nevertheless in my eyes Highslide JS is a very good image viewer.
I have taken a closer look to Highslide JS.
In Highslide JS there are 2 different attributes ( image title and alternative text )

I’ve tried it – both attributes works with Highslide JS

As I see it NextGen Gallery catches the image title and the description of an image.

Would it be possible to fill in some text in the description field and declare it as
    alternative text? (changing php. code?)

    Any help would be appreciated

    Kind regards
    Michael

@michaeldeger – We do not currently offer custom code support. Your best bet would be to look at the much older versions of NextGEN Gallery that did offer support for the Highslide library.

    Thanks!

@michaeldeger – PS: You would be looking at versions prior to 2.0.73 but also keep in mind we have made changes since then to how Lightbox libraries are loaded since then.
