    Hello,
not sure if this is a bug.
I entered the details of a user where the email was already in the audience list but different name.
I received a message saying email already in use. Entered new message. Seemed to be accepted though there “You need to wait for sometime before subscribing again ” message.
But I mailhog captured two emails (one to user, one to admin) that used the original name and repeat email. And the audience list was not updated.
    Which is a bit confusing.
Using new name/new email gives expected result and the audience list is updated.

    Hi @norricorp,

Thanks for contacting us for your queries.

We have attached our response to your queries as below

I entered the details of a user where the email was already in the audience list but different name.
I received a message saying email already in use

    — Yes, if the email is already in the audience list and you are subscribing to the previously subscribed list, then this warning message is shown. In this case, no data is updated. This is to prevent someone from mistakenly updating someone else email address with his/her new name. Allowing form submission, in this case, might lead to incorrect names for some subscribers if someone else has updated their name.

Entered new email. Seemed to be accepted though there “You need to wait for sometime before subscribing again ” message.

    — To prevent spam signups, the plugin restricts form submissions and shows the above message if someone tries to submit the form more than once in a short interval of time.

But I mailhog captured two emails (one to user, one to admin) that used the original name and repeat email. And the audience list was not updated.

    — We have checked this issue at our end and looks like it is working as expected. When subscribing to a new list, the audience list is getting updated and the subscriber’s latest name is fetched in the sent emails. Can you please check if you are subscribing to a new list or to an existing list? In the case of an existing list, ‘Email Address already exists!’ should be shown and while subscribing to a new list, the audience list should be updated with the new data. Let us know if it is not working as expected in your case.

Hope this helps you. Let us know if you have any further queries.

    Thank you.

Yes, it does work, sometimes slightly slower than I imagined. Also, I have set up the email subscription form in several places on the page with different methods and one of those was never going to work.
