• Hi,

I have tried to send myself the link to edit the MailChimp profile, after generating an “already subscribed” error message.

I have checked the DB and the values for the lists are fine.

click here to send yourself an update link
        </a>

    thanx

    Valentina

P.S. I am in localhost environment, would that matter?

    Hi Valentina Giorcelli,

Localhost shouldn’t matter, as I have done a lot of development on the plugin on a localhost installs using both XAMPP and VVV.

Can you try toggling on debugging on the ‘Debug’ settings page? Additionally, it could be that your API key does not have the appropriate access rights to generate look up the users info. I believe you need to have ‘Owner’ rights on the account for things to work properly.

Does the ‘Account’ page work for you? I would imagine it wouldn’t if you don’t have the proper access rights on the account.

    Thanks,
    Evan

    Hi Evan,

thank you for your answer. I am the administrator of the MailChimp account.

The error I get in words is: Error: Invalid MailChimp List ID

Of course since I just subscribed to the list through the same form, the List ID I have provided is correct.

The interesting thing it’s in the code, since the list ID is not there (as you can see from my message above)

    Any guesses?

I am going live today and testing again.
    Thanks

    Hi Evan,

the website is live and the error still stands.

You can see it here along with the confirmation message that I have pointed out in the other ticket:

    Hi Valentina,

I’m not sure why you would be receiving that error if the API key is valid and you are the admin. You may want to try generating a new API key, and entering that onto the settings page to see if that helps things. The form seems to be working, so the API key is correct – it just seems as tho the permissions are not.

    Thanks,
    Evan

    Hi Evan

I have changed API, same error.

Thing is, it doesn’t say API error, it just doesn’t provide the list ID in the code, therefore when submitting it goes in error.

    Cheers

    Hi Valentina,

Without access to the site so I can do some testing, I’m not entirely sure what may be going on. It’s strange that you are seeing any errors.

Hi, didn’t want to open a new thread so I’m writing in this one. First keep up a good work, plugin is amazing. I have an optin in when you optin in you get the freebie. But sometimes people had already optin and now they have to put the different email adress to get the freebie. What is a workaround this problem so they could optin in with already subscribed email adress and still het the freebie which is sent in welcome mail. THank you

    Hello.

You can use a form with the same address to update a profile, but it wont trigger a welcome email because they are already subscribed.

We have a paid add-on that may do the trick. https://yikesplugins.com/plugin/incentives-for-easy-forms-for-mailchimp/

There may also be a solution in MailChimp’s Automation KB: https://kb.mailchimp.com/automation

    Thank you!
