    Hello,

I have one network with 5 websites but now when someone is registered to one of our websites and then wants to register with that same e-mail to another one on the network it gives the error: ?Error:?An account is already registered with your email address.

How do I fix this? The websites are suppose to be unique and different from each other.

Hi, they are different and unique from each other in terms of subsites. However when you have a WordPress Network (multi-site) then the common part is that each of the subsites will be under one user/email Network account. This is the reason that you see that error, there isn’t anything that can be done for that as its all part of the default WordPress.

if you share you site I can have a look at registering to see too.

    The main website is https://www.hifistudio79.nl.

Then you have for example: https://www.schiit-europe.com/ and https://www.auneaudio-europe.com/ under it

I see registration is currently disabled on the site.
if you haven’t already you can trial the registration experience by registering at ..
    https://justinandco.com/demo/
    and then
    https://justinandco.com/demo2/

you can then see if the experience is the same as your site.

    Hi @justinticktock ,

Thank you for your answer. I’ve checked the demo websites and they work the same as our website. If I register at one, it will automatically be registered at both. But this is not what I want, because customers dont know that I own both stores so it should act as a new store and new user per website.

Unfortunately that is how WordPress Networks work (multi-site) has one user common database across all sites and Networks (if a multi-Network) installation.

    Hi Justin,

But the weird thing is if a person that is registered to for example website1.com and doesn’t know of the existence of website2.com and then tries to register there it says that his email is already in use… If then he tries to get his password from ‘Forgot your password’ then that’s not possible because his email is not accepted..

What can I do? I lose customers because of this…
