• When I try installing I get this message:

“You appear to have already installed WordPress. To reinstall please clear your old database tables first.”

    What should I do?

  • Either empty your existing database. Or create a new one and amend your wp-config.php file to point to the new database.

How do I do that? I have uploaded the whole wordpress folder onto my server again and again yet it says I have already installed it. How do I point it to the new database?

I have tried pointing the database tables to a new location but still no luck.

Edit your wp-config.php file to use the connection details for the new database.

Well, id you are having trouble, do 2 steps from start.

    1) GO to you cPanel (or whatever u r using) and create a new DB with necessary details. (DB name, DB User, PWD)
    2) Locate wp-config.php file in your webserver root and delete it. Now, take wp-config-sample.php file from your wordpress folder, change all required details in it, rename it to wp-config.php and upload to your server. (Reference)
