Alphabetize Nav List by an Element, Map Zoom on Click

Hi I am trying to do 2 things – I know they are not within the normal functionality of the plugin but am able to edit the plugin files with a little help.
1. I would like to alphabetize the Nav List below the map by the city name which I have given the field |project::clinic-location| – wonder if you can tell me what code to add/change to make that happen.
2. I would like that when a state checkbox is clicked the map will zoom in to the selected state – if you could tell me what code to add or change for this one it would be helpful.
I am just having trouble figuring this out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi thank you so much for getting back to me! I emailed you so you can reply there if you prefer. I was able to alphabetize my list but I am still having trouble with the checkbox click/ map zoom. I think I might be able to figure it out myself but I don’t know what variable the map is under or how I can call it to change its options with leaflet/javascript – could you just let me know what the variable is? Thanks!
