Almost there but needs some work
-
I like the plugin, has a lot of good useful tool however, the plugin seems to automatically add a canonical element site-wide which conflicts with individual third party canonical elements and creates a conflict with google bots. I now have 2 canonical elements and cannot remove the one coming from Yoast SEO. I do not want the one coming from yoast, it seems pointless on a free version. I rather use someone else’s canonical element plugin which I can have the freedom to modify in each individual page. I do not see this option in yoast.
Overall the plugin is great. This is one issue they should fix. Canonical elements should have the ability to modify them individually in each page. Sadly they are lacking here. We should have the option to remove them completely. I have been looking for these options but do not see it. Maybe I am looking in the wrong place, this should be more easily accessible for better user experience and user friendliness.
I updated my review to 4 stars because they have pretty good follow up. They replied to me in this thread. Taking their recommendations and implementing.
