    I used this to move a site from one server to another. The backup was super smooth and took just minutes. The restore on the new server took 8 or 9 hours, which really puzzled me. I almost killed it and started over, but I could see it was making progress so I left it. I have no idea what was going on, it could have been my (budget) server, or anything so YMMV.

    During the slow time I peeked inside the backup to see what my options were, and was very happy to see it’s just a bunch of SQL files and my WP files, so in a pinch I could have manually imported everything with WP-CLI.

    In the end it did exactly what it said it would, and filled my need. Don’t let my slowness issue keep you from trying it.

    The process should take much less time. If you will experience such issue with different server, please let us know we may give you some hints what to do in order to solve this issue.
