Allowing users to submit an event

I am creating a site that needs to have the ability to let users submit and edit their own events.
A basic breakdown would be for the user to submit an event entry using a button on the events page or “click here to submit your event” button.What i don’t understand is how to get the event submitter to be able to log in and submit and edit their event only, do i need to add some additional form on the front end or something so the user gets their own login user and password? Really confused as to how this bit works.
I have already set up the manage booking, edit locations, and edit events pages. at the moment anyone who gets to that URL can see these pages.
So I guess i’m asking does all of this plugin (the user upload event functionality specifically) rely on a user having a user account in the forst place? And if so, what would be the best way for me to allow users to create this account?
