Allowing shortcodes to be parsed in plugin output

I have a plugin that allows users to enter text into a textarea that they want output on a wordpress page (for access control denied messages).

If a user enters a shortcode into this textarea I want it to be able to parse like normal posts page shortcodes.

Will this happen automatically?
