Our error detection is giving us Fatal error every couple of days for Wordfence scan

It doesn’t fail and finished the scan but the Fatal still occurs regularly.

First it gave the error on 256mb, then we raised it to 512 and 1024mb, but the error is still present.

Allowed memory size of 1073741824 bytes exhausted (tried to
    allocate 534780608 bytes)

Found from another thread to set Maximum execution time for each scan stage to 20, but the error persists despite it.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hey @moonfly,

Can you please try increasing the Maximum execution time for each scan stage to 80% of your current available memory and let me know if it helps?

    https://www.wordfence.com/help/scan/troubleshooting/#adjust-the-max-execution-time

Please let me know how it goes.

    Thanks,

    Thanks for the reply.

I tried these settings for a week, but the error persists.

This is the log from the last scan:

    Hey @moonfly,

Can you please try running another scan and if it fails on the memory issue again with it set to 1024mb share the PHP error logs here? If so, I’ll bump the developers for their thoughts.

    Please let me know.

    Thanks,

    Gerroald

It seems as the errors have stopped and the scan is running normally now.

Memory usage is normal as well:
[Feb 08 23:26:40] Wordfence used 76.01 MB of memory for scan. Server peak memory usage was: 80.01 MB

Not sure what has changed since, but glad it is working now ??
If it will give me another error like this with current settings, I will let you know.

    Thanks for the support!
