    Hi there,

Trying to get a backup for one of my sites and I got the following error:
“Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 1073741824 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 300147160 bytes) in /srv/users/…./public/wp-content/plugins/wp-clone-by-wp-academy/lib/functions.php on line 151
There has been a critical error on your website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.”

    The backup process wasn’t completed.
We are currently on WP 5.4.1 version. The theme we are using is Twenty Sixteen.

Could you please let me know on the issue causing this error?
What are the actions that need to be done to fix it?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Best,
    Efi

  • Hello Efi,
    Thanks for your message.

The error “Allowed memory size exhausted” occurred when your backup or restore requires more memory than your PHP memory limit. There are no issue in the plugin that cause this.

    But we have few workarounds.
    1. In our plugin page, there is an “advance settings” option and increase your memory limit. Try the backup/restore process, see if your memory limit can be extended in PHP runtime or not.

    2. If that doesn’t solve this, you need to consult with your server administrator to increase memory limit in your PHP settings.

Sometimes, if you have large site or small memory capacity in your server this error can occurred.

Please let us know if you need any further help.

    Thanks.
