allow users to edit other users posts, except private and password protected

  • Hi guys,

    1/ I’m allowing users to edit other user posts, 2/ but not private or password protected.

    I’ve done step 1/ but how to lock this down further so they don’t see private posts? In wp admin they can see AND edit everything.

    Is this possible with this plugin?

    Hi,

    User can not edit private posts, just see them at the wp-admin posts list if his role does not contain ‘edit_private_posts’ capability.

    If you exclude from a role ‘read_private_posts’, then such user will not see private posts at the posts lists.

    There are no special edit restrictions for the password protected posts. Password protects only content from viewing. User who can edit others published posts can edit password protected posts.

    User Role Editor Pro includes a special add-on, which allows to restrict user from editing some posts by criteria, like ID, category, author.
