Allow users to be notified only about certain post types?

  • Hi!

    I was just wondering whether it was possible to make it such that users can choose to be notified only of certain post types of their choosing.

    I’m not necessarily asking for someone to come along and solve this for me (I expect it will take some development), but would this be possible to hack into the Roost plugin at all? If so, any advice on places to start?

    Hey shibbymintay,

    This is certainly something that could be accomplished with a little plugin hacking and our API.

    I do not know if we will work this into the plugin or not as it starts to get into what we consider more of a premium feature, like we include with our Roost Plus plan.

    I know it’s not completely the same but we will be adding categories from the website owner’s perspective into the plugin. This way you can send notifications for posts only in category X or Y.

    Hey shibbymintay,

    Wanted to follow up on this as we have finally pushed a release that supports category filters.

    Version 2.2.0 of the plugin allows the site admin to select categories that are excluded from auto push. I know it’s not exactly what you referred to in the first post, but it’s a step in that direction.
