Allow Specific User-types to Add Media

  • I want to be able to allow certain User-types to be able to add pdf’s, jpg’s, and png’s to the Media Library. I want the plus sign “+ New” at the top of this User’s logged in screen to have the option to Add Media in their drop down menu from this “+ New” button. I want specific types of users to be able to add Media (trip flyer pdf’s, or images). After this addition I want them to be able to see the URL of the uploaded Media so it can be use in Constant Contact emailings or in Posts Submitted to the website. Ideally, I want the Add Media button to be available to Users and not just to the Editor (Admin) role people. The Role Editor choices for activating using Add Media are not clear to me. How do I use the Role Editor to do this?

    I figured out how to show the Add Media button but now Uses see the site Dashboard, even when I check off “Hide Admin Bar”. Why? How do I prevent Subscriber Users from seeing the Dashboard?
