• Spaces in filenames are converted to dashes by wp-file-upload. I realise this is by design. Is it possible to override this behaviour so that the spaces remain (while other special characters are stripped)?

Use Case: A library of documents where users upload files. These often have spaces in the filenames and it is confusing to the users to see the names changed. (My corresponding filename display handles spaces properly in the URL.)

Hi, there is an option for this in the visual editor of the upload form:

    Do Not Change Filename

Nick, Thanks for your reply. I had found that option thank you. It does indeed leave spaces in the name. But it also leaves in any other special characters. Is there any way to get spaces to remain but filter out any other special characters?

    Thanks again.
