Love WordPress Simple Shopping Cart! Worked immediately for me in browsers: Opera, Chrome, Firefox and Edge. Only loaded plugin last week: v5.0.5.

However, whenever I select setting ‘Allow Shopping Cart Anchor’ the shopping cart no longer appears, upon Add Item, in browsers: Chrome, Firefox and Edge. Though it works fine in Opera. As soon as I deselect setting ‘Allow Shopping Cart Anchor’, and upon Add Item, the shopping cart reappears in browsers: Chrome, Firefox and Edge, registering each previous instance of Add Item.

Obviously, for now, I have deselect setting ‘Allow Shopping Cart Anchor’ on my web site. Though it would be great to get this useful setting compatible with all browsers, asap.

Also, I noted that in browsers: Chrome, Firefox and Edge the Add Item hover colour (light blue) does not appear at all but does in Opera.

Does anyone else experience the above issues?

Thank you for reaching out to us. I have carried out a test in my dev site and I cannot reproduce your issue. I have done the following to test this.

1- Created a shopping cart product. Added the shortcodes in a post.

2- Navigated away and used different browsers. Clicked on the Add to Cart button. Took me to the cart area in the post (Anchor).

3- Made changes to the quantity and also deleted the product and the anchor worked for me.

I tested the above using the following Browsers: Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, DuckDuckGo and SeaMonkey. This was carried out using Windows 11 in a laptop.

    Hi mbrsolution

Thanks for your excellent advice and link to:

    Problem now solved:

    1. Theme checked out good
    2. Plugin tests identified culprit as being: ‘WP-Optimize – Clean, Compress, Cache’. Which I only installed last weekend. If I only activate this plugin plus ‘WP Simple Shopping cart’ , performance is slightly better in that upon Add Item the Shopping Cart does appear with item listed, but then the Remove cart item button does not work.

I will search out an alternative compatible Optimize plugin. Do you have a recommendation? Or I could simply only activate this plugin when required, as in itself it seems to do its job well.

    Thanks again and best wishes

    Hi?mbrsolution

I’ve been able to further pin-point the incompatibility issue between ‘WP-Optimize’ and ‘WP Simple Shopping cart’?as resulting from activation of ‘Enable page caching’ within ‘WP-Optimize’. When ‘page caching’ is Disabled, the problem I originally reported with ‘WP Simple Shopping cart’ disappears across each browser I’ve tested.

I have also checked to see if selecting ‘Disable Nonce Check for Add to Cart’ in ‘WP Simple Shopping cart’ overcomes this problem, as the description implies it may “Check this option if you are using a caching solution on your site. …”. But no such luck, problem returns as soon as I ‘Enable page caching’ within ‘WP-Optimize’.

At least I can now permanently Activate ‘WP-Optimize’. Though, ironically, I assume the main reason to do so would be to utilise ‘Enable page caching’.

Any further thoughts on this issue?

    Best wishes

Caching and optimizing plugins are great for sites optimization and speed, but can also cause some issues with Shopping and eCommerce plugins. However nowadays many developers of these plugins have added functionality so that they can work with Shopping Cart and eCommerce plugins. You just have to search for the right combination in your case. In some cases all it takes is to exclude the pages with the shopping cart from getting optimize and or cached.

    Kind regards.

    Hi mbrsolution

Perfect! I have been able to exclude shopping cart page URL from ‘page caching’ in ‘WP-Optimize’. Problem now resolved, with ‘page caching’ permanently?enabled.

Thanks for your time and help. Very much appreciated!
