    Hi,

This seems like an awesome plugin with a setting for everything. I can’t believe I haven’t come across it before now.

Anyway, I know you can allow logged-in users to create albums but I can’t seem to figure out if it’s possible to allow anyone to create albums? It’s the last but decisive feature I need ??

    Thank you!

I will be glad to add this feature for you.

Question 1: If Anonymus ( ip = 77.xxx.xxx.xxx ) creates an album, who are allowed then to upload to it and who will be allowed to see the photos in it?

Question 1: How would you prevent the creation of albums by spammers?

    Thank you Jacob, that’s great!

    1. In this case the answer to both would be anyone
    2. With a honeypot field and/or captcha

I know this poses some security concerns and that it can be difficult to prevent spam but that’s what my client wanted.

It’s in the factory. Approx 2 weeks is the planning.

    Hi Jacob,

Thank you so much for adding this feature! It works great but there’s one thing that doesn’t seem to be possible.

I would like to have a gallery page with all the albums and from there allow visitors to create albums. I’ve set up a parent album for all the albums and used the shortcode [wppa type=”album” album=”someID”][/wppa] but unless there’s an image in the parent album the option to create an album in this parent album is not displayed. Would it be possible to add a link to create an album before all the sub-album boxes if no images are in the album?

Another suggestion which isn’t all that important to me would be the ability to define a maximum depth for the album-tree. E.g. only allow for album creation in the root or root > album-level 1 > album level 2.

I really appreciate your help so far!

Why not add the upload box before or after the member album like:

    [wppa type=”upload”][/wppa]
    [wppa type=”album” album=”20″][/wppa]

Set the default parent album to the member album ( Table VII-B10 )

Thank you! That is exactly what I wanted. I didn’t realize you could also create albums that way.
