Allow googlebot to access protected content

    Hi,
    I want to prevent users from downloading PDF using download monitor (or any other way) and allow it only for members, or only users entering their email (using email before download plugin).
    However, I still want googlebot to access the same content, to index it and show it in search results.
    Any idea for that?

  • Hey Azimed,

    The purpose of our plugin is to prevent direct access to file URL’s and only make the file available for download using the dynamic URL’s created by our plugin. We save the files in a secure folder and then use PHP to process the downloads.

    If you make the files available for anyone including Google bots, then it would be accessible to everyone.

    You mean “If you make the files available to Google bots, then then only way is to give access to everyone.” In this case, yes it does answer my question, but it does not solve my problem.
