We have noticed that when a user finishes adding their job listing and clicks Next to Preview – if they leave the site for whatever reason they can not get back to that listing to publish or checkout however the listing is in the backend under Job Listings > Pending Payment.

I imagine this functionality is built in somewhere or some how for the user to continue their listing from their job_dashboard but we are not seeing it (even thouhg it’s available in the backend)

Any thoughts on this? This is not specific to any premium add ons, it seems to happen even when WP Job Manager is the only plugin activated.

  • WPJM already does this somewhat by setting two cookies ‘wp-job-manager-submitting-job-key’ and ‘wp-job-manager-submitting-job-id’. If the job is in the preview stage and the person returns (with their cookies) it will resume.

However, it does not work for “pending_payment” status, i.e. those using the Paid Listings plugin and the customer goes past the preview stage. I submitted an enhancement for exactly this a couple of months ago:

You are welcome to make the change yourself as the code to fix it is there.

    Hey there,

The latest version of WP Job Manager added a feature where you can choose whether you want to edit the existing listing or create a new one after previewing. This was specifically designed to work with our WC Paid Listings add-on while the order is being processed but it should work in this case as well.

    Thanks,
    Davor
