• Hello,

I have a custom user role called ‘executive’ that I would like to allow to make changes and update SEO. Currently only admin and editor are allowed to make changes to the SEO. When this user role tries to update SEO nothing is saved. I tried giving the user the capability of ‘manage_options’ but the user is still unable to save changes to the SEO meta box. Any ideas?

    Thanks.

  • I have same problem and I don’t find answers.

Only solution is to give to your custom user the ability to “manage_options”.

Otherwise it will not see WordPress SEO menu, because “manage_options” is hardcoded as “MUST HAVE CAPABILITY” in wordpress-seo/admin/class-admin.php
