Allow contributor to edit published posts not working?

    I’m using Capability Manager Enhanced to allow contributors to edit their published posts. I think upgrading my site to WP 5.0 may have broken this feature.

    When I login to my contributor account and edit a post, the button shows ‘Submit for Approval’ instead of “Publish” as it used to. Submitting for Approval reverts the post to Draft, which is not what I want.

  • Yeah – seeing the same issue. Could we get a fix on the next release?

    Further notes:

    Users that had “edit published” but not “publish” capabilities saw this issue. Adding the “publish” capability to those users does resolve it, but obviously was part of the reason I was using this plugin.

    Thanks for the bug report.

    Yes, Gutenberg played havoc with statuses like this. We’ve got the report and we’ll get it fixed in the next release.
