Allow authors to be notified of comments after sync! Is this thing on?

  • Is this plugin still being actively developed? The previous thread on this issue was ignored even though it relates to the #1 reason I want to disable Disqus on our site.

    It refers to this post, which has a one-line fix to disqus.php that makes Disqus use WP’s built in wp_notify_postauthor() function to notify the post’s author when a comment is added to their post.

    Notifying authors when there’s a comment on their post is vital. Otherwise comments languish without replies and authors feel like no one is paying attention to their writing. It’s amazing that the Disqus team hasn’t made this a priority.

    Please respond to this with your reasoning for not adding this or a similar feature.

    This remains an incredibly important feature for sites with more than one author. Any opinions from Disqus or the developers?
