• Hi there,

I’m running a wordpress mutilsite network for a client. Each site has one protected page that needs a login to access. At the moment, whenever my client adds a user, they get an auto-generated password from wordpress – is there a way (or perhaps a plugin?) to allow the admin to choose the password manually when creating the user, instead of one being auto-generated?

I’m aware that this is less secure, however that’s not important for this site.

    Any ideas?

  • They can create the user, then edit their profile and change the password.

That’s what’s happening now, however it’s not ideal as by that point the user has already received an email with the auto-generated password. What we’re after is more of a fire-and-forget process, where the user receives the email with the chosen password. Is it possible?

Can’t you turn off the send password part? I mean, you should be able to make an account and NOT email the person, then you create a new password and manually email them.

Not ideal either, but it’s only one email.

Personally I like that a random password is mailed to them. Security ??
