    Hi,
I need to allow different capabilities to users including managing network users. However, when I do this, the user can “assign himself” admin privileges. Is there any way to allow access to “User Role Editor” to only one user?

    Thanks.

    Hi,

Network Superadmin has access to the “User Role Editor” (URE) by default. There is no sense to restrict a superadmin.

Other users may have access to URE if you grant them ‘ure_edit_roles’ capability. So remove all ‘ure_%’ capabilities from other user(s) and ‘manage_network_plugins’ too.

    Hi Vladimir,

“Shop managers” can’t edit network users by default. They are supposed to be able to edit_users. However, the only thing they can do in a network is to remove an user. I would like “shop managers” to be able to edit users but if I assign them the “manage_network_users” capability, it gives them the access to edit capabilities with your plugin too.

I’ve checked and all the ure_% and there were unchecked for the “shop manager” role.

I tested it to check if the capabilities could actually be changed, I logging in as “shop manager” and try to change an “Administrator”‘s capabilities, As soon as I checked one checkbox and click update, it removed all the other capabilities and left only the one I checked. It means, my administrator was not longer an administrator ??

So, I was thinking if there is a way around so “shop managers” can’t edit capabilities.

    Any ideas for this?

    Thank you!
