• Doing a manual install on a Server 2003 system. It’s been a real pain, but finally I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I can log on and post things, and it all seems to work fine. The only problem is there aren’t any posts to be found at any known urls. The urls contain the post name, for example mysite/wordpress/tester-first-post-attempt/. The wordpress directory exists, and there’s a /database subdirectory that contains the MySQL tables, which seem to be fine – but no subdirs anywhere with the post names. Does somebody know what’s going on here? Thank you.

To elaborate, clicking on a link from the main index page, the browser says:

    The page cannot be found
The page you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.

Here is the url it’s trying to reach:
    https://www.gigascanner.com/wordpress/tester-first-post-attempt/

Note that there’s not actually a subdirectory off of the /wordpress directory with this name.

Please let me know any ideas, I would really like to get this solved.
    Thanks!

fixed – it needed /index.php/%postname%/ for the permalink Custom Structure field. I had just /%postname%/ and it didn’t work.
