    Hi,

Testing my site I have chosen to show nothing by de frontpage.
I just wanted to check what the best solution/layout is for me.

Now I see by my homepage only the header “HOME” or “HOME-en” (dutch or english homepage). using polylang

I have tried to change it again back to another static page but no results.
By the Appearence > Customise I can choose Home asmy homepage and it looks like “normal” then I save it and then go lilve it has save nothing at all.

I have tried the option widgets and all widgets are gone….

The only I can see are the posts/pages.

Please help… what do I need to do?

  • Yeah, but don’t know if you’ll get them back..
Just tried your child theme functions.php, and works fine, I set the front page to display nothing and it’s fine..

the fact that the strings are gone, could be an issue with the db. Dunno.

sorry I donot understand this…. is there a way tocheck it in the db….?

What is the best advice now?

Look I don’t know how polylang works.. ??
Though in my db in the wp_posts table I have row with post_title “polylang_mo_15” with the post_content field filled with the translated string (string to translate and translated string).

    OK. Thanks!

Because it has already happened before I have created some children theme… I see only one child theme but in my db I see more than one theme_mods_oldChildName (I think 3 of 4 in total)

How can I be sure information over old child themes are gone for good…..

I was brave enough to check it but not yet to delete them….

Hey but I never talked about child-theme :), I told you to look in a total different table in the db, for what concerns Polylang. The child theme option has nothing to do with it. It’s just about menu and widgets. And that theme_mods_NAME is created when you active a theme (a child is a theme anyway) for the first time. If you want you can delete those rows for deleted themes, but you better make a db backup, though it shouldn’t be pretty safe, before doing it.

OK. thought maybe it is getting some old information from the old child themes…

    I have 3 post_title
    “polylang_mo_2” and
    “polylang_mo_5” and
    “polylang_mo_40”
    with the post_content field
    I think I see no translations…

but I donot what that means ;-(

mm 2 and 5 should be two different languages, and if you see no translations… your translations are gone ??

    Thread Starter wph4

    (@wph4)

    ok. i edit my post…. acctually I see 3 post_titles

and it looks like I have no transaltions…

For example I see the title of a footer but their are all the same. I mean only one language…

    your translations are gone ??

I will try now to update it using the string translations by wp dashboard…
