    Hi @jlundie

    Thanks for the reply,

As I say the Jquery error seems to be fixed wiht removing wprocket but that doesn’t seem to have fixed the issue,

so what happened on June 25th is, we switched our ad company(the people who are managing our google ads,

so we removed one user from our analytics etc and then added the new user,

this is what happened on that date, no website/server changes happened then,

then yes every site connected to the google account is getting the same issue,

it is 2 site connected greenit.ie & greenit.ie/schools that is connected to the site,
but they are really one site(operated on a wordpress multisite)

    Thanks,
    Gavin

    Hi @gavindelaney25

so what happened on June 25th is, we switched our ad company(the people who are managing our google ads,

Can you confirm if your new ad agency is using UTM codes on the links on your advertisements for tracking referal traffic?

Unless this is done, it is very likely traffic will be shown as direct. In most cases these days, users block their own cookies using ad blockers and privacy settings on browsers. When this happens Google has no clue from where they are landing and ends up tagging them as Direct

However if they land on your site using a URL with UTM tags for campaign, ads etc. it will be tracked accordingly within a campaign.

If you are using CDNs like WP Rocket, it would be better to check with them if there are any special provisions needed for Google analytics to work accurately.

    Hi @nagpai

I’m unsure about the UTM tags,

I can check that, but this would only account for the paid transactions showing as direct,

in our case all transactions are showing as direct,

then for the WP rocket again I’ll check on that one,
but I think we may have solved this issue before,
    and it wasn’t causing it,

    Thanks,
    Gavin

    Hi Gavin @gavindelaney25,

Apart from the UTM tags, it may also be worth looking at any account-specific settings especially since, as you mentioned, you made no other changes to the site before this issue started happening, except for changing users. In this case, I’d highly recommend that you reach out to Google Analytics support for assistance in checking the account too.

@gavindelaney25, we haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this thread as resolved. However, we’ll be here if/when you’re ready to continue.

    Hi,

I have not got an conclusion for this yet,

we are still getting all our transactions as direct,

and its missing a lot of transactions,

this month so far 1-26 it should have tracked 160 transactions, it has only tracked 80,

it seems so far off, but I don’t know how to fix it,

can someone in your team have a look at our google account and see if they see if the issue is in there?

we have tried google support, but they don’t help at all

    Thanks,
    Gavin

    Hi again,

can someone in your team have a look at our google account and see if they see if the issue is in there?

I am afraid we are not allowed to touch any third party account of yours.

this month so far 1-26 it should have tracked 160 transactions, it has only tracked 80

This might be accurate since many users do use do not track technology enabled in their browsers these days. If your tests in general indicate that tracking is working, then I would expect that to be part of the result.

    Kind regards,
