All sub-sites redirecting to main site

Hello,

I had to recover a VM with a WordPress Multisite installation which was working very well, re-installing it into a new VM.
I had recovered everything: config files, database, etc. and at the end of the process I had my WordPress Multisite installation back with all blogs, contents and settings working… except for one issue: I just can’t have the subsites working when the associated main domain is typed.
Main domain is kratos.westeurope.cloudapp.azure.com and the sub-sites are subdirectories. For instance, if you type in your browser the URL https://kratos.westeurope.cloudapp.azure.com/piessepifuoco/ you can reach the sub-site with all its content. If you type https://piessepifuoco.it instead, you get the Apache configuration file, which is correct because no pages are available for the main site at https://kratos.westeurope.cloudapp.azure.com.

Keep in mind that:
– wp-config.php and .htaccess have the proper lines inside
– Network admin dashboard and single sub-sites admin dashboard also are accessible
– Sites are properly configured on Network
– Domain Mapping is property configured in each site

I had a look to a lot of documentation, database tables, apache and WP config files without finding a trace of what the problem could be.

Can anybody help me, please?
