Hello. Suddenly all snippets inserted by your plugin stopped working. Can you help me understand what could be causing this?

If I restore a backup everything is working, but it seems like just adding any other snippet makes everything stop working again.

I tried disabling security plugins and it didn’t help. I tried deactivating other plugins and nothing helped.

I tried updating the plugin and that didn’t help either. In HFCM, a snippet that I tested worked, I’m testing others now. Thanks.

    Hi @killjack ,

Thank you for reporting this – did you recently update any other plugins on the site?

You mentioned creating a new snippet makes everything stop working so there might be something interfering with how the snippets are pre-loaded for execution.

Hi. I haven’t updated anything. I never update sensitive plugins unless with a full update in conjunction with the theme.

The first time it stopped working, I thought it might be due to a conflict with new plugins I had installed. So I restored a backup, and didn’t install any of those plugins anymore. But when I added another snippet on WP Code, everything stopped working again.

At this point I restored a backup and didn’t touch your plugin again. Everything is working. But if I update something in your plugin, everything will certainly stop working, as happened a few times.

I migrated some snippets to HFCM and Code Snippets to test. Some are working but it appears that others are not. I’m testing by clearing cache so I can see. Thanks.

    Hi @killjack,

Thank you for the details. Are you by any chance using a plugin that enables the object cache on your site? We have seen instances before where an object cache plugin in combination with certain setups interferes with the way WPCode preloads snippets.

If possible, please try temporarily disabling the object cache/other performance plugins to see if that makes a difference.

    Thank you

Yes, I have an object cache, and yes, that is exactly the problem. If I insert or upade a snippet with caching enabled, all snippets stop working. If I insert or update a snippet with the cache disabled, everything works again.

Reactivating the cache after making changes keeps things working, but if you update anything without disabling the cache, everything stops working again. ??

I’m waiting for the update, thanks!

    Hi ,

We are planning to release an update to address this issue next week.

If you need a temporary solution earlier please reach out at https://wpcode.com/contact

The latest version of the plugin (2.1.3) which has just been released addresses the issue described in this thread.

Please update the plugin to the latest version and activate or deactivate at least 1 snippet as that will rebuild the preload and snippets should work as intended moving forward.
