Just a small issue to report – not so much a bug, but confusing reporting from RankMath SEO plugin in the WP Dashboard.

We’ve noticed that, on a WP multisite network, if any one of the sites on the network is set to “Discourage Search Engines for Indexing” in the WP Reading settings, then RankMath reports “Your site is set to No Index” on the WP Dashboard for ALL sites in the network (even when they are not discouraging Search Engines from Indexing).

This is on latest version WP and RankMath, using RankMath Pro, and with a WP multisite install with each site on a different primary domain.

    Thanks
    Marcus

    Hello @marcusjwilson,
    ?
    Thank you for contacting support.
    ?
Are you using the plugin with the network activation? If so, please switch the activation of both the Free and PRO plugins to be activated on each subsite individually instead of the network.
    ?
Some of the features of the plugin such as Analytics, for example, won’t work properly when the plugin is activated on the network.
    ?
Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

Thanks, but the plugin is NOT Activated at network level. It is activated on a per site basis, so I’m still not sure why we are seeing all sites on the warning on the WP Admin dashboard that indexing is not turned on for all the sites in the network, when it is just one site where we have asked for indexing to be discouraged.

    Hello @marcusjwilson,
    ?
Can you please look for the option named?rank_math_notifications?and set its value to?a:0:{}?on it, on one of the websites of the network that is set to be indexed?
    ?
After that, please reload the admin dashboard a couple of times and see if the message reappears.
    ?
If the message doesn’t appear again, the most likely issue for this would be a caching issue and we would recommend trying to clear any cache object you might have on the websites to see if that helps fix the issue.
    ?
If you could also share a screenshot of the plugin section where we could see our plugin so we can compare with the versions available that would be helpful.
    ?
Looking forward to hearing back from you.
