All posts 'uncategorized' after HDD SQL failure

  • Hi All,

    After a hard drive failure and replacement this morning, all of my WordPress installs are “missing” their categories.

    The categories are in the SQL DB, but all posts are listed as ‘uncategorized’.

    Under “Categories” in the admin… the categories are “noted”

    eg: 533 items pages 1-27 etc

    but no categories are visible in the list.

    I assume it is a taxonomy/relationship error.. but do not know how to fix it at this stage.

    Any help appreciated..

    Solution to this problem was found.

    Host had not given the /tmp directory/drive the correct permissions.

    This create a problem similar to a “Failed to write to disk” problem that stops categories being displayed in the WP admin
