.I have membership website and had a member contact me to say my latest blog post “page could not be found”…so installed WPv5.3 and nothing happened..same thing ALL POSTS AND ARCHIVED POST SIMPLY GONE.

Went in took a look and 3YRS WORTH OF WORK IS COMPLETELY MISSING.
Had them double check at Bluehost and they see nothing on the post side either.

Obviously this was a problem before I updated to V5.3, but then there’s something called “block editor” which was giving me fits to begin with, so installed “classic editor w/v5.3

Can anyone verify if they have pages/posts/media missing as well and does anyone have a clue as to what the huckleberry is happening?

What this means is that the BU I did today over on Bluehost gives me a crappy copy of my website content…last UPdate there was back in November 2019..gonna bite hard if I have to go back in and redo all the work I’ve done!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • always backup before update.

Upgrading WordPress or installing WordPress plugin should not remove any of the existing posts.

Are the posts missing from the Post list in WordPress dashboard panel as well?

A good hosting provider should keep daily backup of your site… You may want to hire someone to check your site for you. Just in case, export/backup your current site (all files and database).

Install the plugin “Classic Editor” from PLUGINS->ADD NEW to return to the old editor.

    @lfc & @sterndata:

I did do site backup so wasn’t too worried…just a bit anguished at thought of having to redo all the work.

@sterndata: a huge thank you as looking around various support forums
    S/posts, you’d already solved my dilemma…
Turns out it was permalink structure.

I toggled it & saved settings and voila’ like magick all post reappeared.

I attempted 3xs to come back and update this miracle here, but each time i did so & hit submit button I got “oops page not found”.

Thanks so much for speedy responses…you saved me & the life of my business @sterndata!

    Sincerely.
    TaraB
